Vocab Ninjas πŸ•΄πŸ»

This week the P7s have been learning how to infer the meaning of an unfamiliar word by using the clues in the sentence context.

Here are the new words/phrases we have learnt this week!

We also had some of the P7s who wanted to share the words in their home language.

Here is Julka telling us how to say “doze” in Polish πŸ‡΅πŸ‡±

Here is Christopher telling us how to say “grotesque” in Spanish πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Έ

And here is Lars telling us how to say “jocular” in Norwegian πŸ‡³πŸ‡΄

Our Amazing Alltnacriche Trip πŸ€©

Wow what a week!!!

We’ve had a rollercoaster of emotions, challenges and the overcoming of fears, and I am beyond proud of every single one of the P7s!

The P7s participated in a variety of activities throughout the week including the Explorer Walk, Trail Biking, Climbing Wall, Ropes Course, Archery, Orienteering, Team Challenges Wood Carving, Zip Line and Camp Fire Bread Making.

Here are some pictures from the activities.

More pictures/video to follow.. watch this space πŸ‘½

What better way to sum up the week than hearing directly from the kids themselves ⬇️

“I got to the top of the overhang at indoor climbing and it made me feel proud” – Deacon

“I’ve had lots of fun and I really enjoyed the zip line” – Andrew

“The week has been amazing because I’ve had lots of fun” – Aidan

“I loved living with my friends” – Aliyah

“The food was really good and Chef Fraser was really nice” – Emilie

“I loved working with my team” – Ella

Here are the teachers at the end of the week πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Thank you Alltnacriche, it has been amazing!!

3️⃣ Sleeps to Go!

With 3 sleeps to go I’m sure you’ll all be busy packing this weekend 🧳

On Monday morning, parents are welcome to wait outside the school to wave off the P7s when the bus leaves at 9.30.

Please ensure your child takes a packed lunch with them πŸ₯ͺ

I would recommend that pupils take no more than Β£10 to spend at the gift shop (if you wish to give them any spending money).

Please remember to hand your child’s medication clearly labelled to Miss Burnside on Monday morning.

Happy packing!

Keep Healthy with P7 πŸŽ

  • Our SHANARRI focus in P7 this week is Healthy and we started the week off by brainstorming the things that we already do to improve both our mental and physical health πŸ’
  • Today we were lucky enough to have a rep from Highlife Highland come into our class to discuss each of the SHANARRI indicators. We completed the well-being web below to identify how we felt about each one ☝️

Well done to Ashton for continually aiming to beat the number of laps he runs during the Daily Mile. Today it was 15! πŸƒπŸ½β€β™‚οΈ

    P7 Residential – Final Update πŸš΅πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈπŸ§—β€β™€οΈπŸ€ΈπŸ½β€β™‚οΈ

With the P7 trip fast approaching, a letter was sent home to your child today detailing all the final updates ahead of the residential.

The letter is pictured below ⬇️

It is really important that your child returns the slip at the back of the letter to Miss Burnside by tomorrow (12/09/19)!

I hope you’re all as excited as I am!

    P7 Residential Trip Info

    Dear P7 parents/carers

Below is a picture of the recommended kit list issued for the P7 residential trip to Alltnacriche.

Please discuss these items with your child. It is best to make sure they bring old clothes that they don’t mind getting dirty/wet. No phones/electronic devices are permitted to be taken on the trip.

In class the P7s have worked together to decide on the activities they would like to participate in and the menu choices for each evening.

A detailed letter will be sent home shortly with trip timings and other relevant info.
